Mastering Pediatric Emergencies 2023 — about 21 hours on the sick and injured child, from delivery to fractures
The 2023 Mastering Pediatric Emergencies Self-Study Course records a three-day programme of 41 sessions, running about 20 hours 42 minutes, on the emergencies children bring to the ED and urgent care. It starts with the first minutes of life, including a precipitous delivery and the crashing neonate, then works through fever, airway and breathing, the abdomen, skin, trauma and orthopaedics, poisoning and behavioural crises. Six faculty forum panels answer practical questions along the way.

Newborns and infants
Emergency delivery, early care of mother and baby, the crashing neonate, the inconsolable infant and BRUE, neonatal fever and infant jaundice form the opening block, the part many ED clinicians find least familiar.
Medical emergencies by system
Respiratory illness, cardiovascular and neurological emergencies, GI disorders and appendicitis, haematology–oncology crises, two sessions on rashes, ENT and dental problems, genitourinary and endocrine emergencies each get a focused lecture.
Mastering Pediatric Emergencies in trauma and orthopaedics
Two parts on head injury, then the cervical spine, thorax and abdomen, followed by back pain and a limb-by-limb run through upper and lower extremity injuries.
