Oakstone Dermatology for Primary Care 2025 — 22 syndrome-based modules for recognising and managing skin disease

Oakstone Dermatology for Primary Care 2025 teaches skin disease the way it walks into a general practice: by pattern and presentation rather than by diagnosis list. Released on 31 July 2025, the course contains 22 short videos and 2 PDFs (2.42 GB), combining clinical photographs, narrated commentary and procedure demonstrations so you learn what to look for, what it means and when to send the patient on.

What you’ll be able to do

  • Describe lesions accurately using the dermatology lexicon of morphology and distribution
  • Treat atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, urticaria, acne, rosacea and hidradenitis beyond the first prescription
  • Tell benign growths from skin cancer and spot cutaneous signs of internal malignancy
  • Diagnose bacterial, fungal and viral skin infections, STIs, HIV-related findings and infestations
  • Identify adverse drug eruptions, blistering disease and outpatient emergencies that need urgent referral
  • Recognise how common conditions look in skin of colour and in children

Inside the course

  1. Dermatology for Primary Care foundations

Adam Friedman opens with the vocabulary of skin examination and returns for urticaria and angioedema, before modules on eczema, psoriasis and acne-spectrum disease set out practical treatment pearls.

  2. Infection and infestation

Separate videos deal with bacterial, fungal and viral skin infections, sexually transmitted infections and cutaneous HIV, and bites, stings and other infestations.

  3. Tumours, systemic disease and emergencies

Benign and malignant tumours, cutaneous clues to cancer, connective tissue disease and vasculitis, blistering disorders and dangerous drug reactions teach you when not to wait.

  4. Special populations and sites

Hair loss, inflammatory and neoplastic genital dermatology, two paediatric modules and a session on skin of colour cover areas many primary care clinicians feel least sure about.

Built for

  • Family physicians and general internistsRash and lesion consultations handled with fewer empirical steroid trials and fewer routine referrals.
  • Nurse practitioners and physician assistantsPattern-based teaching that works without a dermatology background.
  • Urgent care cliniciansA clear sense of which skin presentations cannot wait.

Before you buy

Is this a dermatology specialist course?

No. The level is pitched at primary care; dermatologists may find it useful for teaching but will already know most of the material.

Are the lectures long?

They are deliberately short, high-yield modules, so the full course fits into a couple of evenings rather than a week.

Do I get CME credit or a certificate?

No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
