Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Review 2024 — 101 lectures across sedation, trauma, pathology, orthognathics, TMJ and implants
The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Review – A Comprehensive and Contemporary Update 2024 is Oakstone’s broadest OMS programme, steered by course directors Jeffrey Bennett, DMD, with Elie Ferneini, MD, DMD, and released on 31 March 2024. More than 60 surgeons, anaesthetists, physicians and safety scientists deliver 101 recorded lectures in 14 subject areas, from office anaesthesia and medically complex patients to free flaps, panfacial fractures, zygomatic implants and facial aesthetics. A syllabus and a question file come with the videos.

- Plan facial fracture repair from condyle to frontal sinus and panfacial injury
- Weigh TMJ and implant options, from arthrocentesis to total joint and zygomatic implants
Inside the course
Anaesthesia, medicine and the safe office
The first 27 lectures deal with airway, paediatric and geriatric sedation, trigger agents, postoperative pain and the medically compromised patient, then turn to team resilience, learning from incidents, emergency preparedness, ethics, telemedicine and humanitarian work.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Review of dentoalveolar and infection care
Anticoagulated patients, third molar complications and coronectomy, antibiotic choice, fascial space infection, osteomyelitis, oro-antral communication and the diagnosis and repair of nerve injuries.
Deformity, pathology and reconstruction
Surgery-first and mandible-first orthognathics, virtual planning, cleft and craniofacial surgery, sleep apnoea, ameloblastoma, keratocyst and giant cell lesions, osteoradionecrosis, head and neck cancer, free and regional flaps.
Trauma, TMJ, implants and aesthetics
Condyle, atrophic mandible, orbital, NOE and pediatric fractures with navigation; TMJ pain, dislocation, condylotomy and joint replacement; implant grafting and peri-implantitis; CBCT and MRI; neuromodulators, fillers, blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty and a minimally invasive facelift.
