Osler Ophthalmology 2025 review — 57-plus hours of recorded teaching for the WQE and beyond
The Osler Ophthalmology 2025 Subscription-Based Review is the recorded edition of Osler’s August–September 2025 virtual course, released on 24 October 2025 as videos with PDF syllabus notes. Eighteen faculty deliver 41 topics across more than 57 hours, and this year the programme adds a separate oral-exam session on critical reasoning plus three optics question-and-answer sessions with physicist Kristina Irsch. Howard Pomeranz anchors neuro-ophthalmology with eight talks of his own.

What you’ll be able to do
- Apply optical principles to refractive errors and work optics questions under exam timing
- Correlate clinical and pathologic findings across the common ocular diseases
- Diagnose and manage congenital and acquired paediatric disorders, strabismic or not
- Explain cataract surgery and anticipate its complications
- Frame glaucoma diagnosis and treatment, and build a uveitis differential
- Choose surgical options for ocular surface reconstruction and understand where keratoprostheses fit
Inside the review
Optics with extra question practice
Andrew Hou teaches optics and refraction, then Kristina Irsch runs three dedicated Q&A sessions, a format not seen in the 2022 edition. Michael Jensen’s four-part ocular pharmacology and Jonathan Lin’s three-part pathology complete the basic-science core.
Neuro-ophthalmology and the orbit
Howard Pomeranz takes optic neuropathies, giant cell arteritis, pupillomotor pathways, fields, myasthenia and thyroid disease, phakomatoses, cranial nerves and nystagmus. David Yoo covers eyelid surgery, orbital trauma, inflammation, tumours and the lacrimal system in five talks.
Retina, uveitis and anterior segment
Peter Tang and Deep Parikh share the retinal curriculum, Anjum Koreishi reviews uveitis, and a new cornea line-up of Robert Gunzenhauser, Lucy Ma, Bryan Zarrin and Mavis Gappy handles conjunctiva, ulcers, corneal surgery, ocular surface and cataract.
Osler Ophthalmology exam technique, glaucoma and paediatrics
Lucas Groves splits critical reasoning into written-exam and oral-exam sessions before moving to angiography, laser, tumours and orbital imaging; David Fleischman gives three glaucoma talks, and Shawn Gappy and Bharti Gangwani cover the six paediatric parts.
