ASN Board Review Course & Update BRCU 2024 — the society’s own sweep of the nephrology blueprint
The ASN Board Review Course & Update BRCU 2024 is the American Society of Nephrology’s annual review, packaged here as recorded lectures with PDF handouts. It walks through ten domains, from kidney structure and sodium balance to glomerular disease, dialysis, bone-mineral metabolism and transplantation, and closes the loop with simulated patient scenarios that let you test your reasoning. It suits candidates sitting a nephrology board exam as much as consultants who want a structured refresh.
- 10core domains
- Videos+ PDF handouts
- 2024edition
What you’ll be able to do
- Explain the physiology behind kidney function and structure in board-ready terms
- Work through fluid, electrolyte, potassium and acid-base disorders systematically
- Separate glomerular, vascular and tubulointerstitial disease and plan treatment
- Manage CKD, ESKD and dialysis patients, including bone and mineral problems
- Handle AKI, ICU nephrology and renal drug dosing with confidence
- Apply current thinking on kidney transplantation and hypertension to case questions
Inside the course
Foundations: structure, sodium and water
The programme opens with how the nephron is built and how it handles salt and water, which sets up everything that follows on hyponatraemia, oedema and volume states.
Potassium, acid-base and stones
Dedicated blocks tackle potassium handling and acid-base interpretation, then move to tubulointerstitial disorders and nephrolithiasis, all areas where exam questions tend to cluster.
Glomeruli, hypertension and the ICU
Glomerular and vascular disorders sit alongside hypertension, acute kidney injury, critical-care nephrology and pharmacology, so the reasoning for sick inpatients stays joined up.
ASN Board Review Course & Update: CKD to transplant
The later sessions cover chronic kidney disease, end-stage care and dialysis, bone and mineral metabolism and transplantation, before simulated cases let you check your judgement against expert answers.
Built for
- Board candidatesA domain-by-domain rehearsal before initial or repeat nephrology boards.
- Nephrology fellowsA benchmark for what a complete fellowship curriculum should have covered.
- Practising nephrologistsA structured audit of every corner of the specialty in one package.
- Paediatric nephrologists, intensivists and hospitalistsAdult-focused content that sharpens kidney care on the wards and in the unit.
Before you buy
Is a session-by-session list included here?
No lecture titles or speakers were supplied with this 2024 package, so we describe it by domain only; ASN publishes the original BRCU 2024 programme on its own site.
Should I buy this or the 2025 course?
This is the older edition. If you want the most recent guidelines and trial data, the ASN BRCU 2025 recordings (MS-26689) are the newer release; the 2024 set remains a sound review at a lower price point.
Is this endorsed by ABIM?
No. ASN runs the course to prepare candidates, but it is independent of the American Board of Internal Medicine, and buying it does not register you for any exam.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
