Cleveland Clinic 24th Annual Pain Management Symposium 2025 — interventional techniques, neuromodulation and the realities of pain practice
The Cleveland Clinic 24th Annual Pain Management Symposium 2025, released on 15 April 2025, is an interventionalist’s meeting with a conscience about the wider system. Fourteen faculty, led by Cleveland Clinic’s pain team, spend eleven sessions on cervical procedures and steroid guidelines, closed-loop spinal cord stimulation, basivertebral nerve ablation, SI joint fusion, Nav1.8 inhibitors and intradiscal biologics, then turn to private equity, prior authorisation, the state medical board, opioids and cannabis. Two sessions are written specifically for PAs and APRNs.

What you’ll be able to do
- Perform cervical spine injections safely and follow steroid and infection-control guidelines
- Match patients to neuromodulation: high-frequency, closed-loop, DRG, peripheral and intrathecal options
- Judge the evidence for SI joint fusion, interspinous spacers, basivertebral ablation and intradiscal biologics
- Weigh PRP and stem cells against their evidence, payment and regulatory hurdles
- Treat CRPS, thoracic outlet syndrome and pain in older adults
- Manage pain alongside opioid misuse and chronic cannabis use in line with CDC guidance
Inside the symposium
Fundamentals and emerging treatments
Sessions 1 and 3 range from ACDF versus disc arthroplasty and AI in pain care to spinal metastasis ablation, novel sodium-channel drugs and minimally invasive fusion, each closing with a faculty panel.
Neuromodulation in two parts
Seven device and target talks in Session 4, then an expert case discussion in Session 5 on pairing the diagnosis with the right technique.
Cleveland Clinic Pain Management Symposium practice issues
Private equity, pre-authorisation documentation, advocacy and medical-board ethics; regenerative medicine regulation; urine drug screening and referral optimisation in the PA/APRN tracks.
Spine, special populations and substances
Vertebrogenic pain, pseudoarthrosis and spinal balance, then CRPS, thoracic outlet and geriatric pain, finishing with opioids, marijuana and current prescribing guidance.
