A structured orthodontics curriculum in 45 modules — from examination and bracket choice to mini-implants, aligners and impacted canines
Orthodontist and textbook author Ivelina Koycheva built Complete Orthodontic Course: from Beginner to Advanced as a single, step-by-step pathway: 45 modules, 143 lessons and roughly 69 hours of teaching. It starts with occlusion, growth and diagnosis, then works through appliance systems, anchorage and interceptive care before reaching adult, surgical, lingual and aligner treatment.

What you’ll be able to do
- Run a full orthodontic examination with photos, models and cephalometric analysis
- Select a bracket prescription — Roth, MBT, Alexander or Damon — to suit the case
- Plan anchorage from minimal to absolute, including mini-implant insertion and loading
- Manage eruption problems and impacted canines with surgical-orthodontic protocols
- Treat sagittal, vertical and transverse discrepancies in growing and adult patients
- Use clear aligners, lingual appliances and self-ligation where each is predictable
Inside the course
Diagnosis and planning first
The opening modules cover Andrews’ six keys, craniofacial growth and the development of the dentition, followed by a nearly three-hour examination module and a planning module on extraction versus expansion and the envelope of discrepancy.
Appliances and mechanics
Removable, functional and extraoral devices are reviewed — Activator, Bionator, Frankel and Twin Block included — before bonding, force systems, deep-bite and posterior open-bite mechanics and anchorage classes.
Interceptive and pediatric problems
Around a dozen modules focus on the developing dentition: space maintenance, crowding and serial extraction, oral habits, hypodontia, supernumeraries, frenula, eruption disturbances and cleft lip and palate.
Complex and interdisciplinary cases
Later modules address adult treatment, finishing and debonding, orthodontic-prosthetic planning, TMD, dilacerated teeth, asymmetry, sleep apnea and orthognathic timing. Koycheva is the author of two books on orthodontic treatment protocols.
