Plastic SurgeryOnline coursePlastic and reconstructive surgery review
A full plastic and reconstructive surgery review in 32 hours — aesthetic, breast, hand, trunk, head and neck, skin and paediatric topics
Contemporary Principles and Techniques in Advanced Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is a lecture-based survey of the whole specialty, 9 modules and 39 lessons over about 32 h 30 min. More than thirty faculty, among them Peter C. Neligan, James P. Bradley, Amy S. Colwell, Jason Pozner, Nolan S. Karp and Arin K. Greene, move from flaps, grafts and wound healing through cosmetic surgery, breast, hand and upper limb, trunk and lower limb, head and neck, burns and skin cancer, to craniofacial, cleft and congenital hand conditions.

What you’ll be able to do
- Apply core principles of flap design, skin grafting and wound healing, including transplant immunology
- Review indications for implant-based and autologous breast reconstruction, reduction and gynecomastia surgery
- Manage hand fractures, tendon and nerve injuries and understand replantation
- Plan coverage for lower limb trauma, diabetic ulcers and pressure sores
- Approach head and neck cancer defects, facial trauma and ear reconstruction
- Recognise craniofacial syndromes, cleft lip and palate and vascular anomalies in children
Inside the course
Foundations and aesthetics
Four opening lectures cover flaps, grafts, tissue repair and transplant biology. A five-hour aesthetic block then surveys blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, facelift, brow lift, vaginal aesthetic surgery, laser resurfacing, liposuction and hair restoration, and Shaun C. Desai adds a session on botulinum toxin.
Breast, hand and trunk
The breast module runs from cosmetic augmentation and reconstruction with implants or the patient’s own tissue to reduction, male breast surgery and post-bariatric contouring. Hand specialists address nerve compression, brachial plexus surgery, fractures, tendons and replantation, followed by torso, lower limb, diabetic foot, pressure injury and perineal reconstruction.
Head, neck, skin and children
Neligan and colleagues discuss facial injuries, oncologic reconstruction, ear repair and rebuilding of lips, tongue and mandible. A skin module treats melanoma, burns and radiation, electrical, chemical and cold injuries, and the paediatric block closes with craniofacial syndromes, clefts, congenital hand and vascular anomalies.

Before you buy
Why does the aesthetic module list topics instead of lessons?
That module is described only by the procedures it covers, not by lesson titles; the eight topics shown are what its five hours address, and together with the 32 named lessons elsewhere they make up the 39 advertised.
Is it lecture or live surgery?
Mostly recorded lectures with clinical algorithms and case examples; do not expect long unedited operative videos.
Is the depth enough for a specialist?
It is a broad review, so each topic gets roughly 45 to 60 minutes; subspecialists will find the overview useful but less detailed than a dedicated course.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
