Regenerate lost papillae and close deep interproximal pockets — Giulio Rasperini’s CA-EPPT, taught through three live surgeries
Giulio Rasperini developed the technique he teaches in Coronally Advanced Entire Papilla Preservation Technique: a fusion of the coronally advanced flap with entire papilla preservation, designed for intrabony defects where the papilla is gone and the phenotype is thin. One lecture traces how regenerative surgery has evolved, then three ReLIVE operations — 3 h 30 min in all — show tunnelling, a new suture method and the full CAF + EPPT protocol.

What you’ll be able to do
- Treat infrabony defects in thin phenotypes while keeping the gingival margin stable
- Advance the papilla and margin coronally to gain interproximal attachment and close pockets
- Add a connective tissue graft to the CA-EPP flap where extra stability is needed
- Use tunnelling approaches, including single flap and soft tissue wall with CTG
- Reduce black triangles by rebuilding interdental soft and hard tissue
Inside the course
Twenty years of regenerative thinking
Similar defects treated at different times show the shift toward less invasive surgery: Emdogain in intrabony defects, the literature of recent decades, newer diagnostic classifications, and why the papilla must be lifted coronally through a wide flap that preserves it mesially and distally.
Tunnelling with growth factors
The first surgery tackles papilla loss, thin tissue and an intrabony defect, comparing the single flap approach and soft tissue wall technique with CTG, Calzavara’s AICAST, and CAF combined with a tunnel.
A second operation, a different suture
On the same patient, a molar–premolar papilla is raised vertically and buccally: biofilm removal, papilla incision, tunnelling mesiodistally as well as coronoapically, and palatal graft harvest.
The combined protocol in full
The last and longest recording applies CAF + EPPT from start to finish. Rasperini sits on the IJPRD editorial board, has won the AAP Earl Robinson award, and co-founded the iPerio Education Center in Piacenza.
Built for
- Periodontists doing regenerative surgeryA refined flap design for the defects that usually end in recession.
- Implant and perio-aesthetic cliniciansInterdental attachment gains support prognosis and appearance next to implants.
- Dentists experienced in microsurgeryTips on incisions, tunnelling and sutures are shown up close.

Before you buy
How much theory comes before the surgery videos?
A single 39-minute lecture; the other three lessons are recorded operations with commentary, so a solid grounding in periodontal flap surgery helps.
Are growth factors or enamel matrix proteins required?
Rasperini stresses biologic agents such as Emdogain for rebuilding attachment, so expect them in the protocols shown.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
