Read every radiograph with confidence — intraoral, panoramic and CBCT in 4 lessons with Johan Aps
Dentomaxillofacial radiologist Johan Aps guides clinicians through Dental Radiography: The Evolution from Analog to 3D, a 5 h 30 min course of four lessons. It spans the full imaging spectrum — from intraoral film and digital receptors, through panoramic interpretation, to cone beam CT — with an emphasis on cutting diagnostic errors and telling artifacts apart from real pathology.

What you’ll be able to do
- Compare film and digital receptors and their limitations
- Capture occlusal, oblique lateral and endodontic views
- Separate true panoramic images from ghost shadows
- Set field of view, voxel size and kVp for CBCT
- Judge when CBCT is appropriate versus OPG or MSCT
- Recognise scatter and beam-hardening artifacts
Inside the course
Intraoral foundations
The first lesson covers how radiographic imaging developed, weighs analog film against modern digital receptors, and demonstrates occlusal, oblique lateral and endodontic projections.
Panoramic and CBCT reading
Two lessons build the core concepts of tomographic and cone beam imaging, teaching landmark recognition, common positioning errors and how to distinguish artifacts such as scatter and ghosting from genuine findings.
Choosing the right image
The final lesson applies theory to real patient cases, offering decision pathways for selecting the most appropriate radiographic method in each clinical situation.
About the instructor
Aps trained at Ghent and London, has held academic radiology posts in the United States and Australia, and specialises in dentomaxillofacial radiology and pediatric dentistry.
Built for
- General dentistsSharper interpretation and fewer diagnostic errors from everyday films.
- Endodontists and surgeonsClear guidance on when CBCT genuinely helps.
- Orthodontists and pediatric dentistsConfident reading of panoramic and 3D images.

Before you buy
Is it aimed at radiologists only?
No. It suits general dentists and specialists alike who want to interpret intraoral, panoramic and CBCT images more accurately.
Does it cover CBCT indications?
Yes. One lesson sets out when cone beam CT is preferred and when OPG or MSCT is the better choice.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
