Harvard 40th Annual Evaluation and Treatment of Pain Conference 2026 — four days across the whole map of pain medicine
The Harvard 40th Annual Evaluation and Treatment of Pain Conference 2026 is an on-demand recording, released in July 2026, supplied as videos with PDF slides and English subtitles. Its 51 sessions move from the musculoskeletal examination and psychosocial assessment to cancer pain, spine imaging and intervention, headache and neuropathic syndromes, and finally to opioids, cannabis, regenerative injections and mind-body treatment. Three of the four days close with a practical workshop, and recurring expert panels test the lectures against real patients.
- 51sessions
- 4conference days
- 3hands-on workshops
- 202640th edition
What you’ll be able to do
- Perform a focused musculoskeletal and psychosocial pain assessment
- Read spinal imaging and match patients to interventional or surgical options
- Diagnose and treat migraine, trigeminal neuralgia and cervicogenic headache
- Use ketamine, buprenorphine and NSAIDs appropriately in chronic pain
- Prescribe opioids rationally and recognise addiction needing medication-assisted treatment
- Add CBT, meditation and mind-body methods to a multidisciplinary plan
Inside the conference
Day 1: evaluating the patient in pain
After a history of modern pain management, sessions cover abdominal and pelvic pain, disability evaluation, fibromyalgia and myofascial pain, supplements, acupuncture, tai chi and yoga, and the pain–sleep link, closing with a musculoskeletal examination workshop.
Day 2: cancer pain and the spine
Cancer pain treatment, interventional procedures and a palliative perspective precede low back pain pathophysiology, imaging interpretation, spine injections, neck and back management, surgery and a talk on artificial intelligence, ending with a spine intervention workshop.
Day 3: Harvard Evaluation and Treatment of Pain for headache and nerves
Headache diagnosis and treatment updates, occipital neuralgia, neuropathic mechanisms, peripheral neuropathies, post-herpetic neuralgia and itch, and CRPS are joined by ketamine and buprenorphine sessions and a headache and nerve-block workshop.
Day 4: medication, regeneration and behaviour
Shoulder and knee disorders, PRP and stem cells, medical marijuana and COX-2 inhibitors give way to opioid stewardship, addiction care, relaxation and meditation, cognitive behavioural therapy and the difficult pain patient.
