A complete implant foundation with Ana Ferro — from anatomy and system choice to All-on-4 and maintenance
Ana Ferro, head of oral surgery, implants and periodontology at a Lisbon clinic known for All-on-4, teaches Implantation School: All Stages, Basic and Intermediate Level in eight lessons of roughly an hour each (9 h 04 min in total). The sequence runs from diagnosis and implant design through one- and two-stage, immediate, early and late protocols to single, partial and full-arch cases, tissue grafting and long-term aftercare.

What you’ll be able to do
- Identify the anatomical danger zones of the maxilla and mandible before drilling
- Compare implant macrodesign and connection types when choosing a system
- Match immediate, early or late placement to the extraction site
- Plan a single implant in three dimensions and choose screwed or cemented crowns
- Plan an All-on-4 rehabilitation for the edentulous maxilla or mandible
- Set up maintenance and compliance protocols that protect long-term survival
Inside the course
Diagnosis and biology
The first lesson maps the sinus, nerve canals and foramina, then covers smile line, lip support, vertical dimension, imaging from periapicals to CBCT, and medical risk factors. The second explains osseointegration and mucosal healing, implant surfaces, platforms, and external versus internal connections.
Surgical timing and loading
A protocols lesson compares one- and two-stage surgery, immediate, early and late placement with video sequences, loading options, primary stability in soft bone, tilting and drilling technique.
Single, partial and full-arch cases
Anterior extraction, three-dimensional positioning and posterior placement lead into partial cases with tilted implants and abutment planning. The edentulous lesson covers biomechanics, the traditional All-on-4 protocol with its bridge, and atrophic cases.
Tissues and aftercare
Bone substitutes, membranes, ridge preservation, horizontal augmentation, papilla and keratinised tissue work precede medication protocols, hygiene appointments and plaque control.
