Digital implant and prosthodontic workflows — 20 talks on guides, robotics, CBCT, ceramics and face scanning
Eighteen prosthodontists, radiologists and digital specialists — among them Wei-Shao Lin, Brian Goodacre, Nazariy Mykhaylyuk, Alessandro Devigus, Miles Reed Cone and Allison Buchanan — contribute to JPD Shaping the Future of Digital Dentistry. Across 20 videos and roughly 11 hours, the series looks at where digital tools genuinely help implant and restorative care, and where they still cause trouble: full-arch workflows, printed surgical guides, robotic placement, CBCT, monolithic zirconia and jaw-motion simulation.

What you’ll be able to do
- Coordinate surgeon, prosthodontist and technician for esthetic implant outcomes from mock-up to final crown
- Judge how far a fully digital full-arch workflow can be trusted and recognise its typical errors
- Plan, design and use 3D printed implant surgical guides
- Decide when and how to remove an osseointegrated implant while sparing the surrounding tissue
- Choose between dual-shaded monolithic zirconia and other ceramics with longevity in mind
- Use face scanning, photography and articulator simulation to improve lab communication
Inside the course
Team esthetics and the edentulous patient
A four-part series follows an esthetic implant case from diagnostic wax-up through positioning and soft tissue to try-in and follow-up. Two lectures then dissect what goes wrong with scanners, CAD/CAM and virtual planning in edentulous jaws and how to correct it.
Imaging, guides and robots
An hour-long CBCT update, a step-by-step guide-printing workflow and a talk on robotic-assisted placement show how planning data becomes a precise osteotomy. A separate lecture covers the explantation of failed fixtures.
Restorations that last and look natural
Fixed-prosthodontic workflow innovations, dual-shade zirconia discs and the clinical and material factors behind ceramic survival are followed by software-based analysis of surface texture for the laboratory.
Documentation and function
The final lectures cover photography versus video for records, a face-scanning device, the modern maxillofacial prosthodontist’s role and how articulator design simulates mandibular movement.
