Oakstone SVM vascular ultrasound interpretation and registry review 2023 — 40 lectures across the whole noninvasive vascular lab
The Oakstone Society for Vascular Medicine Comprehensive Review of Vascular Ultrasound Interpretation and Registry Preparation 2023 walks through every territory a vascular lab reads: carotid and vertebral, peripheral arterial, abdominal and venous. Heather Gornik, Eugene Zierler, Jeffrey Olin, Fredrick Kremkau, Ann Marie Kupinski and colleagues pair each block with rapid-fire interpretive cases, and a final section of mock RPVI question sessions targets the physician registry. Lab operations, ergonomics, quality improvement and incidental non-vascular findings round out a programme first released on 30 June 2023.
- 40lectures listed
- 6teaching blocks
- 100+registry-style questions
- 2023release
What you’ll be able to do
- Relate ultrasound physics and Doppler artefacts to the images and waveforms you interpret
- Grade internal carotid stenosis and assess carotid stents, endarterectomy sites and subclavian steal
- Combine physiological testing and arterial duplex to localise and grade lower-limb arterial disease
- Diagnose DVT and venous reflux and map veins before endovenous treatment
- Apply criteria for AAA, renal and mesenteric stenosis and follow aortic endografts
- Run a safer, higher-quality lab with quality improvement and ergonomics programmes
Inside the course
Lab foundations and physics
A registry-strategy talk opens the course, followed by two Kremkau physics lectures, transducer choice and artefacts, quality improvement and work-related musculoskeletal injury prevention for sonographers.
Vascular ultrasound interpretation by territory
Cerebrovascular, peripheral arterial, abdominal and peripheral venous blocks each move from protocols and criteria to case review, including TCD, pedal and CLTI imaging, dialysis access, hepatic-portal Doppler and central veins.
Rapid-fire case sessions
Eight interpretive case reviews test pattern recognition on carotid, native and bypassed limb arteries, stents, abdominal vessels, compression syndromes and vascular zebras.
Mock registry sessions
Six mock question sessions cover physics, TCD and transcranial imaging, lab standards and patient safety, alongside a talk on incidental non-vascular findings every reader should recognise.
Built for
- RPVI candidatesVascular medicine specialists, surgeons, cardiologists and radiologists preparing for the physician registry.
- Vascular lab medical directorsContent on lab quality, safety and operations beyond pure interpretation.
- Vascular technologists and sonographersProtocol and criteria review with an interpreting physician’s perspective.
- NPs and PAs in vascular clinicsA structured grounding in what duplex reports actually mean.
Faculty & syllabus
Before you buy
Why does it say 28 videos when 40 lectures are listed?
The package is described as 28 video files plus 2 PDFs, while the syllabus names 40 talks, so several lectures are probably combined per file. No total size is given.
How does it compare with the other RPVI courses in the store?
We also carry the 2026 Harvard and Oakstone Clinical Approach to Vascular Ultrasound and RPVI Prep courses, the ASE RPVI Online Review 2026, Gulfcoast’s 2021 RPVI review and the 2022 Pegasus modules; this 2023 SVM set overlaps with them in scope, and the 2026 titles are newer.
Why is one mock session title slightly altered?
The last mock question session’s wording was shortened on our page to “Essentials of Laboratory Standards”; it covers lab standards, patient care and safety, quality assurance and test validation.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
