Canal anatomy, irrigation chemistry, endo-perio diagnosis and external cervical resorption — three researchers, nine lessons
Micro-CT anatomist Marco Versiani, irrigation specialist Matthias Zehnder and KU Leuven’s Paul Lambrechts, co-author of the 2023 ESE position statement on resorption, share Online endodontics intensive: modern tools, materials, and protocols. In 7 h 45 min across nine lessons they connect root canal anatomy to shaping choices, explain what irrigants really do, untangle endo-perio lesions and give a long, protocol-driven look at external root resorption.

What you’ll be able to do
- Read CBCT and micro-CT anatomy to choose instruments and preserve healthy dentin
- Clean isthmuses and C-shaped canals with a “shaping for cleaning” mindset
- Select and sequence NaOCl, chlorhexidine and chelators and activate them effectively
- Distinguish primary endodontic from periodontal lesions using a structured diagnostic path
- Manage sclerosed canals, strip perforations and suspected vertical fractures
- Classify and treat external cervical resorption, including replantation and autotransplantation options
Inside the course
Anatomy drives shaping
The opening three lessons trace how canal anatomy has been studied, how 3D imaging reveals deviations, and why complex canals call for irrigation-led cleaning. Obturation quality, sealer choice, engine-driven files and even research on nanorobots round off this block, with a Q&A.
The chemistry of disinfection
Two lessons focus on biofilm, hypochlorite protocols, ultrasonic activation, interactions between solutions, smear layer removal and how sealers bond to dentin.
When endo meets perio
Diagnostic terminology, shared infection pathways, furcation canals, invaginations, perforations and resorption lead into decision algorithms, cold test versus EPT, fistula tactics and a clinical Q&A.
Two hours on external resorption
Aetiology, CBCT staging and prognosis come first, followed by internal and external approaches for canines and incisors, cases linked to bruxism, occlusal trauma and orthodontics, modern repair materials and long-term follow-up of delayed implants and adhesive restorations.
Built for
- General dentists who do root canalsA research-backed refresh of shaping and irrigation habits.
- EndodontistsDeep material on resorption and difficult endo-perio diagnoses.
- PeriodontistsA clearer line between lesions of pulpal and periodontal origin.

Before you buy
Are pain management and vital pulp therapy really covered?
They are mentioned in the course overview, but no lesson in the published curriculum is dedicated to either, so do not buy it mainly for those topics.
Is this suitable for paediatric endodontics?
The lessons deal with permanent teeth; there is no specific content on primary teeth despite the paediatric category.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
