University of Pennsylvania Inflammatory Bowel Disease Symposium 2025 — two days of IBD therapy, surgery and hard cases, with slides
The Penn Medicine 14th University of Pennsylvania Inflammatory Bowel Disease Symposium 2025 was held at the Sofitel Philadelphia on 7–8 November 2025 under course director Gary Lichtenstein. Six sessions take IBD from microbiome and immune targets through every major drug class to pregnancy, cancer, perianal disease, pouch problems and the next decade of care. - Use biomarkers and therapeutic drug monitoring to steer treatment
- Plan combination therapy and compare the effectiveness of current options
- Manage perianal Crohn’s, strictures, abscesses and pouch disorders with surgical colleagues
- Handle IBD alongside pregnancy, obesity, cancer and anaemia

Inside the course
Friday — biology and medical therapy
Microbiome, immune targets and environmental risk lead into a full review of mesalamine, steroids, immunomodulators, biosimilars, vedolizumab, ozanimod, etrasimod, IL-23 blockers, JAKs and supplements.
Friday afternoon — special scenarios
Obesity, pregnancy, coexisting cancer, persistent urgency and fatigue, then combination therapy, comparative effectiveness, mild Crohn’s and acute severe UC.
Saturday — University of Pennsylvania Inflammatory Bowel Disease Symposium surgery block
Dysplasia guidelines, perianal disease, surgical updates, peri-operative Crohn’s care and pouch disorders from surgeons and interventional IBD specialists.
The future
Imaging choices, drug monitoring, options when everything has failed and a look ahead with Stephen Hanauer. Each session ends with a case presentation or panel.

Before you buy
Why does the agenda show 39 items but the package 37 videos?
The programme lists 39 speaking slots including welcome and closing remarks; 37 recordings are supplied, so a brief opening or closing segment may not exist as its own file.
Is every talk accompanied by slides?
There are 30 PDFs for 37 videos, so a few sessions, most likely panels and cases, have no handout. Every video has a VTT subtitle file.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
