Gingival recession treatment compared: VISTA, tunnel, pinhole, coronally advanced flap and LAST in 10.5 hours
Six periodontists each defend a different route to covering exposed roots in Root Coverage Techniques: Tunnel, Flaps, VISTA, Pinhole, LAST. Homa Zadeh, Leandro Chambrone, Martina Stefanini, Robert Carvalho da Silva, Ion Zabalegui and Nelson Carranza teach seven lessons that combine evidence on predictability with step-by-step surgical protocols for teeth and implants.

What you’ll be able to do
- Pick a technique using a root coverage decision tree for tunnel versus flap approaches
- Perform VISTA step by step and apply it to peri-implant soft tissue deficits
- Close single and multiple defects, including RT3 cases, with the tunnel and bilaminar technique
- Manage deep, narrow or wide defects with the laterally stretched flap
- Harvest palatal and tuberosity grafts with trap door, L-shaped, envelope and double-blade methods
- Judge when a coronally advanced flap works alone and when it needs a graft
Inside the course
Evidence and decision-making
Leandro Chambrone reviews the patient, procedure and outcome factors that make root coverage predictable, using the clinical scenarios from the AAP Regeneration Workshop and data on keratinised tissue width. Nelson Carranza follows with a decision tree comparing tunnels with conventional flaps and autografts with substitutes and growth factors.
VISTA around teeth and implants
Homa Zadeh’s two-part block covers risk assessment, root prominence and odontoplasty, flap tension and thickness as outcome predictors, and long-term VISTA results. The second part turns to peri-implant mucosa, implant position, socket management, VIP grafts, L-PRF and the FIVE vestibular extension technique.
Tunnel, LAST and coronally advanced flap
Separate lessons explain graft healing biology and RT classification, the laterally stretched flap for deep recessions with graft customisation, and CAF protocols for single defects, multiple recessions and the molar region, with attention to de-epithelialised grafts.

Before you buy
Is the pinhole technique taught in its own lesson?
No. Pinhole surgery is discussed as one option within the first VISTA lesson rather than as a separate module.
Does it include live patient footage?
Lessons include clinical cases and protocol demonstrations; there is no hands-on component.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
