TADs in everyday orthodontics — Caroline Cazenave’s path from first insertion to Class II, Class III and vertical cases
French orthodontist Caroline Cazenave, a full member of the European College of Orthodontics, built Starter-to-Intermediate Clinician’s Roadmap to Using Microimplants for Orthodontic Anchorage as nine lessons totalling 5 h 50 min. She starts with placement anatomy and loading, then spends most of the time on biomechanics and cases: molar distalisation, mandibular anchorage, Class III expansion, anterior segment control, open bite and large overjet.
- 9lessons
- 5 h 50 minof video
- 3malocclusion classes covered
What you’ll be able to do
- Choose insertion sites for orthodontic microimplants based on anatomy and plan loading
- Tailor Class II mechanics to growth pattern, occlusal plane and molar position
- Use TADs for maxillary molar distalisation with elastics or mandibular anchorage
- Combine skeletally anchored expansion with growth control in Class III patients
- Correct gummy smile, deep bite and asymmetry through anterior segment control
- Treat open bite and excessive overjet with anchorage-supported mechanics
Inside the course
Getting started safely
The first lesson reviews why skeletal anchorage changed orthodontics, the surgical and anatomical factors behind placement, loading protocols and the complications to expect.
Class II in three stages
A conceptual lesson, a short introduction through cases and a longer advanced session look at hypodivergent and hyperdivergent patients, condylar growth, upper molar distalisation and when mandibular protraction or maxillary retraction carries risk — including a patient with Crouzon syndrome.
Class III and expansion
Theory and case sessions cover expander designs, hybrid hooks, protocols that redirect ramus growth, and the limits of distalising the lower arch without root contact.
Vertical and sagittal detail
The final lessons deal with torque and vertical control of the incisors, open bite with tongue re-education, and overjet cases solved with molar mesialisation and sectional mechanics.
Built for
- Orthodontists new to TADsA gradual route from first screws to planned biomechanics.
- General dentists doing orthodonticsUnderstand what skeletal anchorage can add to fixed appliances.
- Clinicians with difficult Class II and III casesMany patient examples showing mechanics that work.

Before you buy
Is TAD insertion shown step by step?
Placement is covered in the first 50-minute lesson; the remaining eight focus on biomechanics and treated cases.
Do the lesson lengths vary much?
Yes, from a 10-minute case introduction to a one-hour session on the anterior segment.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
