Tim Pearce’s 8D framework for lip filler: analyse eight dimensions, critique popular techniques, then treat real lip types
8D Lip Design Course 2024 is Tim Pearce’s structured method for lip treatment that looks past simple volume. Across 23 video lessons (about six hours) and 16 PDFs, he scores lips on volume, projection, proportion, details, definition, angles, symmetry and distractions, dissects well-known injection styles, and applies the system to consultations with thin, M-shaped, asymmetric and downturned lips.

What you’ll be able to do
- Run a consultation that draws out patient goals, fears and risk tolerance before any product is chosen
- Describe lips in terms of the eight 8D dimensions and explain them to patients in plain language
- Apply lip anatomy, including labial artery variation, to depth and plane selection
- Compare tenting, sculpting, Russian lips, 4 mm needle and cannula techniques on benefit and risk
- Choose filler rheology, needle gauge and toxin with long-term persistence in mind
- Tailor plans for thin, M-shaped, asymmetric and downturned presentations
Inside the course
Eight core chapters
After a short introduction, the chapters cover goal setting, patient fears, aesthetic analysis, surface to histological lip anatomy, the technical core of injection (depth, volume, angle, pattern, post-injection moulding), material science and tools, and a longer session on shared decision-making and consent.
Technique critiques
Pearce assesses seven approaches one by one: two 4 mm needle reviews, cannula, Russian lips, sculpting, tenting, restoration of the ageing lip and botulinum toxin. Each is judged on customisation, migration and vascular risk, pain, swelling and suitable candidates.
Case consultations
Four patient cases show the framework in use: a post-surgical asymmetry, an M-shaped lip, a thin lip with a visible fracture line, and a downturned mouth where the aim is freshness without an overdone look.
Photography and practice growth
Two long business lessons round things off: a 38-minute guide to ethical before-and-after photography and a 48-minute talk on pricing, value and patient loyalty for lip treatments.

Before you buy
Why are there two “4 mm analysis” lessons?
Both run 12 minutes and cover the same short-needle technique from slightly different angles, so expect substantial repetition. Lessons are also listed alphabetically rather than in teaching order; start with the introduction and Chapters 1–8.
What do the 16 PDFs contain?
Their contents are not itemised, so treat them as supporting material rather than a full manual.
Is there overlap with other Tim Pearce courses here?
This catalogue also carries his Dermal Filler Complications and Elective Lip Reversal courses; those focus on problems and dissolving filler, while this one is about design and technique.
Is it suitable for complete beginners?
It assumes you already inject and hold the relevant qualification; it is not a first course in dermal filler.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
