The Columbia Renal Biopsy Course 2025 brings nephrologists and renal pathologists face-to-face with the diagnostic and therapeutic challenges of medical renal disease. Over three days starting July 16, 2025, twenty-four faculty members — including Vivette D’Agati, Glen Markowitz, Agnes Fogo, and Ronald Falk — deliver lectures on glomerular, tubulointerstitial, vascular, and transplant pathology, paired with live clinical case discussions that test your biopsy interpretation skills in real time.

Glomerular disease pathology and treatment approaches
Day one covers the histophysiology of the glomerulus, MCD and FSGS pathology and therapy, membranous nephropathy including new antigens, MPGN and C3 glomerulopathy, and diabetic kidney disease pathology. Laurence Beck addresses immune surveillance in membranous nephropathy while Andrew Bomback walks through C3 glomerulopathy diagnosis and management.
Crescentic GN, ANCA vasculitis, and IgA nephropathy
Day two opens with J. Charles Jennette on crescentic glomerulonephritis and ANCA/anti-GBM disease, followed by Ronald Falk on treatment. M. Barry Stokes covers IgA nephropathy and IgA vasculitis pathology while Pietro Canetta addresses modern treatment approaches. Infection-related GN and the 41st Conrad L. Pirani Lecture by D’Agati round out the morning.
Dysproteinemia, TMA, and transplant pathology
Samih Nasr reviews renal amyloidosis, fibrillary GN, and monoclonal immunoglobulin crystalline nephropathies. Thrombotic microangiopathy pathology and treatment are paired with viral-mediated glomerular disease. Day three closes with transplant pathology — Robert Colvin on rejection and Ibrahim Batal on drug toxicity, infections, and recurrent disease.
Genetics integration and lupus nephritis
Agnes Fogo addresses hereditary nephropathies while Dominick Santoriello and Hila Milo Rasouly demonstrate how to integrate genetic testing with renal biopsy findings. Simone Sanna-Cherchi delivers the state-of-the-art lecture on APOL1 updates, and lupus nephritis receives dedicated sessions on pathology and modern therapies.
