Crowns and bridges done right: 116 short lessons on materials, preparation, retraction, impressions and cementation
Everyday Fixed Prosthodontics breaks indirect restorative work into 116 focused lessons across 14 modules, about 15.5 hours in total. Prosthodontist Moez Khakiani leads the teaching, with contributions from Vivek Hegde, Cherag Sarkari and Srilatha S., and the course follows a crown from material choice and biologic width to the final bonding protocol.

What you’ll be able to do
- Choose between PFM, PFZ, monolithic zirconia and lithium disilicate based on space, position and parafunction
- Place margins without breaching the biologic width, and diagnose a violation when it happens
- Prepare molars, premolars and incisors to the right reduction depth for each material
- Retract tissue with single or double cord, or cordless systems, and control haemostasis
- Take and troubleshoot addition silicone and polyether impressions in stock or triple trays
- Cement or bond PFM, zirconia and e-max restorations with material-specific steps
Inside the course
Deciding what to make
Two opening modules compare the main ceramic and metal-ceramic options, discuss whether zirconia can fracture, and weigh span length, interocclusal room, bonding needs, age and lab skill in the final decision.
Preparation in real time
The longest core module shows full demonstrations on a molar, premolar and incisors for both all-ceramic and PFM crowns, then covers bridge abutments, wing preps, tilted or rotated teeth, ferrule and inlays. Short clinical-pearl clips deal with clearance, finish-line refinement and the distal margin of an upper second molar.
From retraction to the final seat
Retraction and impression modules are highly practical — cartridge bleeding, putty mixing, tray adhesive, disinfection — and a troubleshooting module explains voids, drag marks and tearing. Pontic forms, occlusal schemes, coping try-in and shade taking precede cementation.
Long-form lectures
Six extended lectures, nearly six hours together, revisit preparation, occlusion, ceramics, articulating paper and the restoration of root-filled teeth.
