Planning full-arch rehabilitation around the whole masticatory system — six case-driven lessons
Periodontist Daniel Rat built Full Arch Fundamentals as a planning course rather than a restorative recipe book. Over six lessons and 4 h 43 min he works through six treatment objectives — facial harmony, orthopedic stability, airway, occlusion, periodontal health and aesthetics — and shows how each one shapes the sequence of a full-mouth reconstruction.

What you’ll be able to do
- Run a structured patient assessment and documentation routine before committing to a full-arch plan
- Read facial proportions, symmetry and profile as inputs to restorative design
- Examine the masticatory muscles and posture and link findings to occlusal stability
- Screen the TMJ, airway and periodontium for problems that would undermine the result
- Sequence an interdisciplinary plan and brief orthodontists and other team members clearly
Inside the course
A framework before the drill
The first two lessons explain why complex cases go wrong without a system, then introduce the whole-system view in which teeth and gums are only one part of the picture. A detailed case follows the six objectives from first examination to final prosthesis.
Face, muscles and posture
Macro- and micro-aesthetics, profile analysis and the influence of body posture on the bite are covered next, together with practical muscle examination and the role of coordinated muscle activity in mandibular function.
Objectives turned into diagnosis
Lesson four goes objective by objective — joint evaluation, airway, occlusal stability, periodontal health — with typical clinical situations and the complications each one can trigger.
Two rehabilitations and one planning walk-through
The closing lessons present complex aesthetic-functional cases involving joint stabilisation, smile design and surgical crown lengthening, then a step-by-step case that lists negative attributes, sets goals and assigns work to each specialist.
Built for
- Restorative dentists moving into full-mouth workA checklist-style method that keeps large cases from drifting.
- Periodontists on multidisciplinary teamsShows where tissue health fits among the other planning goals.
- Clinicians coordinating with orthodontistsPractical advice on communicating objectives across the team.
