Bring aligner production in-house — scanning, printing, set-up software and tray biomechanics with Digant Thakkar
In IN-OFFICE ALIGNERS: profitable treatment option for doctors, more effective treatment process for patients, Indian orthodontist Digant Thakkar shows how his clinic designs and fabricates clear aligners without an outside lab. Nine lessons, about 12 hours, cover printers and resins, case set-up in OnyxCeph and ArchForm, thermoforming and trimming, biomechanics for spacing, crowding, vertical and transverse problems, distalization and extractions, plus metal-printed expanders that work alongside trays.

What you’ll be able to do
- Choose and calibrate a resin 3D printer, place supports and keep print costs down
- Segment, stage and add attachments in OnyxCeph and ArchForm
- Run the chairside chain from scan to thermoformed, trimmed and packed tray
- Plan aligner mechanics for deep bite, open bite and crossbite
- Combine trays with metal-printed RPE, MSE and MARPE appliances
Inside the course
Hardware and production
FDM, SLA, DLP/LCD and metal printers are compared, with criteria for choosing one, horizontal versus vertical orientation and live model placement in Chitubox. The production lessons cover scan strategy, avoiding bubbles, post-processing, thermoformer and sheet types, trimming with and without scissors, button cutouts and labelling — and what to delegate to assistants.
Digital set-up
Two long software lessons follow a case from import and orientation through digital Kesling set-up, visual treatment objective, personalised attachments, staging velocity, pontics, bite stops and bite shifts, to export and numbering, including features of ArchForm 1.9.5.
Biomechanics with trays
Case selection, master attachments and retention lead into spacing and crowding, then extrusion and intrusion for open bite, deep bite planning, single-molar and skeletal crossbite, sequential distalization, elastics, extraction space closure and the G6 protocol, all with clinical cases.
Printed metal appliances
Thakkar, recognised by the Indian Orthodontic Society for clinical innovation in 2021, closes with band-and-loop maintainers, expanders and Twin Blocks, and how they pair with aligners in skeletal Class III, narrow palate and impacted canine cases.

Before you buy
Which software licences would I need to follow along?
The set-up lessons use OnyxCeph and ArchForm, and print preparation uses Chitubox; the course demonstrates them but does not include them.
Is the listed 12 hours accurate?
The individual lessons add up to roughly 11.5 hours, close to the stated total.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
