Direct composites, veneer preparation and bonding science — 42 lessons on predictable adhesive restorations front and back
Posterior Class II technique, anterior shade and layering, veneer preparation design and the chemistry of bonding all sit together in Mastering Composites: Aesthetic and Functional Excellence in Adhesive Dentistry. Frank Spear, Kevin Kwiecien, Marcos Vargas, Bob Winter and Martin Mendelson teach 42 lessons in nine modules, about 13 h 20 min in total, and also cover ceramic crown material selection, deep margin elevation and bulk-fill resins.

What you’ll be able to do
- Decide when a posterior composite is indicated and prepare, line and matrix it correctly
- Plan minimal, conventional or extensive veneer preparations from the intended final outcome
- Match material to case among feldspathic, lithium disilicate, alumina, zirconia and metal-ceramic crowns
- Choose and apply dentin adhesives for direct work and for cementing indirect restorations
- Build a custom shade guide and layer anterior composite for a natural result
- Handle bulk-fill resins with their cure depth, shrinkage stress and handling limits in mind
Inside the course
Posterior composites, twice
Module 1 walks through indications, preparation, liners, matrix concepts, flowables and the final increment. Marcos Vargas later revisits the posterior restoration step by step — cavity design, sectional matrices, wedges and rings, filling, contouring, polishing and margin elevation — then compares bulk-fill with conventional composite and amalgam for longevity.
Anterior design and materials
Outcome-based veneer preparation, the bleaching-plus-bonding approach to anterior esthetics and a nearly four-hour module on ceramic and composite material choice, including MI Paste, give a framework for front-tooth cases.
Adhesion and colour
Lessons on dentin adhesives explain the chemistry, known concerns and cementation with self-etching cement on a full maxillary arch. A short Easyshade segment and a four-part shade module cover measurement, custom guides and stratification.

Before you buy
Are some modules very short?
Yes. The Easyshade module lasts 8 minutes and the bulk-fill module about half an hour, while material selection runs close to four hours.
Does it go beyond direct composite?
It does: veneer preparation, ceramic crown materials and cementation of indirect restorations are covered as well.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
