Perioral and lip aesthetics for dentists — plan toxin and filler treatment from anatomy, age and face shape
OHI-S Perioral and Lip Aesthetics: Rejuvenation, Neuromodulation and Fillers treats the mouth, lips and lower face as one unit instead of a list of lines to erase. In seven lessons (about 1 h 47 min) it moves from smile evaluation and lip proportions through botulinum toxin type A mechanics, dosing by age decade and sex, and morphotype-led injection mapping, then closes on the material science of dermal fillers. For a dentist who already reads smiles every day, it links that dental view of the face to injectable planning.

What you’ll be able to do
- Stage the aging smile and assess skin quality in the lower third of the face
- Measure lip ratios and read commissure droop, perioral lines and gummy smile in context of chin and jawline
- Adjust botulinum toxin type A strategy for patients in their 20s, 30–45, 45–60 and over 60, and for male versus female muscle mass
- Map forehead, glabellar, crow’s-feet and lower-face injections to the patient’s facial morphotype
- Compare CaHA, PLLA and hyaluronic acid fillers by elastic modulus, viscosity, cohesivity and cross-linking
Inside the course
Smile and lip diagnosis
The opening pair of lessons covers what makes a smile attractive, how it ages in stages, and which lower-face muscles drive those changes. Lip enhancement goals, ideal proportions across different profiles and combination-treatment cases lead to a frank section on matching patient expectations to realistic results.
Neuromodulation foundations for perioral and lip aesthetics
Lesson 3 explains toxin pharmacodynamics alongside the way skin, fat compartments and resting muscle tone change with age, then classifies face shapes. Lesson 4 turns this into decade-by-decade protocols, from micro-toxin prevention in younger patients to laxity and hypertonicity in the over-60s.
Mapping, errors and consultation
Four step-by-step morphology cases show individual injection maps and dose distribution for the upper and lower face. Common placement mistakes, complication prevention and a standard consultation algorithm round off the planning section.
Aging layers and filler science
A lesson on bone resorption, orbital rim and nasal aperture remodelling, ligament laxity and Glogau classification precedes the filler lesson, which moves from the golden ratio and pyramid of aging to rheology, HA concentration and particle size, using the Juvéderm Vycross range (Voluma, Volift, Volbella) as worked examples.
Built for
- Dentists offering facial aestheticsConnects smile design and lip support to toxin and filler planning, where local regulations allow dentists to inject.
- Oral and maxillofacial surgeonsAdds a structured, layer-by-layer model of lower-face aging to surgical assessment.
- Dermatologists and aesthetic physiciansA compact refresher on perioral morphology and filler rheology.

Before you buy
Will this course let me start injecting?
No. It teaches assessment, planning and material theory through lectures and case analysis; it is not supervised hands-on training. Whether a dentist may administer toxin or fillers depends on the rules where you practise.
How much filler technique is shown?
The filler lesson focuses on product types and rheology rather than step-by-step injection technique. Toxin mapping gets more practical depth through the case studies.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
