Giulio Rasperini on less invasive periodontics: non-surgical therapy, single-flap regeneration and tunnel grafting
With Modern Periodontal Care: Tissue-Preserving, Minimally Invasive Solutions, periodontist Giulio Rasperini explains when a pocket can be resolved without a flap and, when it can’t, how to operate through the smallest workable access. Three long lectures frame 15 surgical videos on intrabony defects, furcations, recession coverage and a perio-prosthetic case — 18 lessons in just under ten hours.

What you’ll be able to do
- Select patients for non-surgical therapy, including timing, goals and antibiotic indications
- Treat deep intrabony defects with the single-flap and papilla-preservation approaches
- Cover single and multiple recessions using coronally advanced flaps, tunnels, palatal grafts or collagen matrices
- Regenerate class II furcations in the lower and upper jaw
- Thicken soft tissue around implants with a tunnelled connective tissue graft
Inside the course
Choosing the least invasive route
The first two lectures compare the biological cost and long-term predictability of non-surgical treatment and minimally invasive regeneration, using a broad set of documented cases.
Regeneration, step by step
Videos show intrabony defects accessed without moving the papillae, a modified single flap with a small releasing incision for a palatal premolar, an interproximal crater closed with a Laurell-Gottlow suture, and an interdisciplinary case with prosthetic preparation and relining performed during surgery.
Mucogingival surgery and furcations
Recession cases cover thin and medium phenotypes, CAF with a Fibro-Gide matrix, and several tunnelling procedures with palatal harvesting. The most demanding video combines upper furcation regeneration with a connective tissue graft in a difficult palate.
Where therapy stops
A closing lecture reflects on the present boundaries of periodontal treatment. Rasperini serves as an editor for a leading periodontal-restorative journal and has received research awards from the AAP and EAO.
Built for
- PeriodontistsSurgical details on flap design, debridement and suturing refine regenerative results.
- General dentists doing periodontal careThe lectures clarify when to treat conservatively and when to refer.
- Implant cliniciansOne video addresses thin peri-implant mucosa in the posterior mandible.

Before you buy
Is this surgery-heavy?
Yes; after the opening lectures most lessons are recorded surgical procedures of 10–30 minutes each.
Are specific biomaterials named?
One video uses a Geistlich collagen matrix; other cases rely mainly on autologous palatal grafts.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
