Diagnose and rebuild worn dentitions — 16 lessons on erosion, bruxism, VDO and full-arch adhesive rehabilitation
Twelve clinicians, among them Carlo Poggio, Daniel Paesani, Jean-Daniel Orthlieb, Maurizio De Stefano, Riccardo Ammannato and Graham Woolley, contribute to Pathological tooth wear for restorative dentists, functional dentists, and dental technicians. Across 16 lessons and almost 21 hours they take the worn dentition from aetiology and screening through bruxism management, raising the vertical dimension and the Dahl concept, to injected composites, ceramic veneers and full-mouth reconstruction.

What you’ll be able to do
- Tell erosion, attrition and abrasion apart and grade erosive loss with the BEWE index
- Screen for sleep and awake bruxism, reflux and other drivers with questionnaires and splints
- Locate centric relation and set a new vertical dimension of occlusion using deprogrammers and articulators
- Plan from wax-up and mock-up to a silicone-index or injection-moulded composite rehabilitation
- Choose between direct composite, ceramic onlays, veneers and crowns for each worn tooth
- Protect results with Michigan splints and a structured maintenance plan
Inside the course
Why teeth wear down
Opening lessons map the mechanisms of surface loss and the medical background — GERD, bulimia, pregnancy vomiting, alcohol, diet, drugs, occupational exposure and even wine tasting — alongside saliva, tongue habits and hypersensitivity. Bruxism is covered in depth: types, protective versus harmful roles, links with sleep and systemic disease, and drugs that make it worse or better.
Occlusion and the new bite
A Kois Center mentor shows deprogrammer and articulator workflows in analogue and digital form, while other lessons explain occlusal reorganisation, the Dahl approach and safe ways to open the bite.
Restorative workflows
Several index-based composite protocols are demonstrated, including a dual-layer silicone mask for injecting heated composite, palatal additions on incisors, imprint technique for posterior teeth and indirect composite rehabilitation in three steps. Ceramic lessons cover onlays, overlays, crowns, zirconia laminates, and incisal wrap versus butt-joint veneer preparations.
Interdisciplinary and behavioural care
Gummy smile and short clinical crowns, pre-restorative orthodontics, psycho-behavioural therapy, nasal breathing, proprioceptive stimulation and implant risk in bruxers round out the programme.

Before you buy
Do any lessons repeat each other?
Lessons 3 and 4 cover the same index-method topics; the fourth is a shorter introductory version of the third, so expect some overlap.
Is this one continuous course by a single author?
No. It is a compilation of standalone lectures by twelve speakers, so terminology and occlusal philosophy vary from lesson to lesson.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
