How the jaw and the body’s posture influence each other — Silverio Di Rocca’s diagnostic and therapeutic approach for dentists
In Posturology for Dentist, craniofacial orthopaedist and orthodontist Silverio Di Rocca explains the tonic postural system and its links with occlusion, the TMJ and neck and back complaints. Ten lessons in three modules (10 h 30 min) move from theory and clinical diagnosis to posturometry, muscle chains, mandibular posture testing, therapy and prevention of relapse.

What you’ll be able to do
- Describe the tonic postural system and the inputs that regulate it
- Run a clinical postural examination alongside the dental exam
- Interpret posturometry findings and relate them to muscle chains
- Test how mandibular position affects whole-body posture
- Plan therapy and preventive measures that lower the risk of relapse
Inside the course
Foundations and clinical diagnosis (3 h 35 min)
After an introduction, Di Rocca sets out how the postural system works and then shows the clinical diagnostic sequence he uses with patients.
Measuring posture (2 h 47 min)
The second module turns to posturometry — how to record posture and read the results — and the muscle chains that carry tension between the head, spine and limbs.
The mandible at the centre (4 h 8 min)
The longest module examines how jaw posture affects the rest of the body, tests for the craniofacial system, treatment and long-term prevention.

Before you buy
How strong is the evidence for dental posturology?
The relationship between occlusion and body posture is still debated in the literature, so treat the methods as one clinical school of thought.
Are the lessons long?
Yes — ten lessons fill 10.5 hours, so each averages about an hour.
Is special equipment required?
Posturometry is taught as a diagnostic method; you may need measuring tools to apply it fully in your office.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
