SCAI SHOCK 2025 — the whole cardiogenic shock pathway, from staging to shock networks
SCAI SHOCK 2025, the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions’ dedicated shock meeting, was held in Tampa from 18 to 20 September 2025 and is supplied as recorded lectures with the PowerPoint presentations. It follows cardiogenic shock end to end — phenotypes, SCAI staging and hemodynamics, complex PCI, MCS and VA-ECMO, PE and RV shock, valvular emergencies — then shows how to build the shock team, network, coordinator roles and business case that make it work.
- 3meeting days
- PPTXpresentations included
- Sep 2025recorded
What you’ll be able to do
- Phenotype and SCAI-stage cardiogenic shock and escalate early
- Perform complex PCI in AMI-shock, including CTO, imaging and calcium modification
- Select, cannulate and de-escalate MCS and VA-ECMO safely
- Manage PE-related and RV-predominant shock
- Use cangrelor and antiplatelet therapy in the shock patient
- Build a shock team and hub-and-spoke network with post-discharge care
Inside the course
Recognition, hemodynamics and PCI
Shock phenotypes, staging, hemodynamic assessment and trial controversies lead into a complex-PCI session on CTOs in AMI-shock, access and closure, intravascular imaging, MCS and calcium modification.
SCAI SHOCK 2025 support and special populations
MCS and VA-ECMO indications, safe cannulation, Impella 5.5 escalation, mobile ECMO, ECMO to transplant, PE shock with FLASH registry and PERT insights, the “People’s Ventricle” RV session, and valvular shock including emergent M-TEER.
Challenging cases
Aortic valve catastrophe with rescue ECMO, arrest during MI revascularisation, apical wall rupture and heart failure–related shock.
Building and sustaining a shock service
Team activation, EMS and ED protocols, CICU staffing, shock coordinators and APPs, outcome tracking, hub-and-spoke economics, C-suite support, shock survivorship clinics, and team wellbeing including second-victim syndrome.
Built for
- Interventional and critical care cardiologistsA complete, current shock curriculum.
- Intensivists and cardiac surgeonsMCS, ECMO and multidisciplinary decision-making.
- APPs, nurses, coordinators and service leadersHow to run and fund a shock programme.
