SCCT Cardio AI Imaging CT Course Level 1 2026 — cardiac CT foundations, with AI built in
The SCCT Cardio AI Imaging CT Course Level 1 is the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography’s foundational programme held in the UAE on 27–28 June 2026. Eight modules take you from scanner physics, gating and contrast protocols through coronary anatomy and CAD-RADS 2.0 reporting to structural heart CT — and teach where AI now fits: deep-learning reconstruction, automated calcium scoring, plaque quantification and FFR-CT, finishing with workstation case review.
- 8modules
- 13learning objectives
- 2course days

What you’ll be able to do
- Explain CT physics, resolution and radiation and cut dose safely
- Prepare patients with heart-rate control, nitrates and contrast timing
- Recognise coronary anatomy, dominance, variants and anomalies
- Grade stenosis and plaque and report with CAD-RADS 2.0
- Use AI tools for calcium scoring, plaque analysis and FFR-CT
- Plan TAVR/TAVI and map pulmonary veins on CT
Inside the course
Physics, preparation and anatomy
Modules one to three cover scanner and detector technology, temporal and spatial resolution and dose reduction; prospective and retrospective gating, beta-blockers, nitroglycerin, bolus tracking and test bolus; then cross-sectional cardiac anatomy and the coronary tree with its variants.
SCCT Cardio AI Imaging CT Course Level 1 AI module
Module four introduces machine learning and deep-learning reconstruction, then puts AI to work on Agatston scoring, automated coronary extraction, plaque characterisation and quantification, and CT-derived FFR.
Interpretation, structural CT and artifacts
Coronary atherosclerosis, stenosis grading, stents and bypass grafts; valve assessment, TAVR planning, pulmonary vein mapping, masses and thrombus; and a full module on motion, respiratory, arrhythmia, beam-hardening and blooming artifacts.
Workstation case review
The final module moves to interactive workstation demonstrations, AI-assisted post-processing and structured reporting of real cases.
