A digital implant workflow in five steps — CBCT, scanning, restoration-led planning, printed guides, final crowns
US implant dentists Matthew Wimmer and Josh Nagao split The Complete Digital Implant Workflow Series into five lectures totalling 4 h 16 min. Each one covers a single phase of guided implant treatment, so a clinician can see how 3D imaging, intraoral scans, virtual planning and printing connect from the first scan to the delivered restoration.

What you’ll be able to do
- Read CBCT volumes and locate the anatomical landmarks that limit implant placement
- Replace conventional impressions with intraoral scanning across the restorative phase
- Position implants from the planned final restoration rather than from bone alone
- Merge scan data and export a 3D-printable surgical guide from a virtual plan
- Capture implant positions and tissue contours digitally for custom abutments and crowns
Inside the course
Imaging for safety
The series opens with CBCT interpretation and shows how volumetric data feeds into planning so that nerve, sinus and other risks are identified before surgery.
Scanning and the restorative side
Lectures two and three explain what digital impressions change for accuracy, patient comfort and lab turnaround, and why the final tooth position should dictate where the implant goes.
From plan to printed guide to crown
A step-by-step demonstration turns a virtual plan into a printable guide, supported by clinical cases, and the last lecture completes the chain with scan-based restoration of the healed implant.
The presenters
Wimmer trained in biomedical engineering before dental school at Tufts; Nagao, an Ohio State graduate, runs a merged multi-office practice with a focus on implants, sedation and complex reconstructions.

Before you buy
How deep does each phase go in under an hour?
Each lecture runs 34 to 61 minutes, so this is an overview of the workflow with case examples rather than hands-on software training.
Is a particular planning software or scanner brand required?
No specific brand is named; the principles apply to whichever CBCT, scanner and planning package you use.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
