Fetal Echocardiography 2026: Normal and Abnormal Hearts — screen, diagnose and counsel
Fetal Echocardiography 2026: Normal and Abnormal Hearts, published by DocMedED, is a 40-video teaching programme with a PDF, taught jointly by maternal–fetal medicine specialists and pediatric cardiologists. It builds from guidelines, machine optimisation and first- and second-trimester screening through normal anatomy and 3D/4D imaging to every major chamber, outflow-tract and venous anomaly — with live scanning sessions, image quizzes, arrhythmias, fetal intervention and parental counselling.

What you’ll be able to do
- Apply national and international guidelines for when to perform fetal echo
- Optimise 2D and Doppler settings for the fetal heart
- Screen for congenital heart disease in the first and second trimesters
- Diagnose HLHS, AVSD, septal defects and single-ventricle disease
- Recognise TGA, tetralogy, arch anomalies, venous anomalies and heterotaxy
- Manage fetal arrhythmias and counsel parents after a diagnosis
Inside the course
Foundations and screening
Guidelines, optimising the examination, screening across the first and second trimesters, normal great vessels and upper mediastinum, 3D and 4D ultrasound, early-gestation cardiac imaging and prenatal assessment of function.
Fetal Echocardiography 2026 anomaly lectures
Five lectures on chamber anomalies — from hypoplastic left heart to single-ventricle disease — three on the great vessels, plus systemic and pulmonary venous abnormalities and heterotaxy.
Scanning, rhythm and intervention
Three live demonstration sessions on screening, the full cardiac exam and Doppler with arrhythmias, alongside fetal arrhythmia management, fetal cardiac interventions and pregnancies with Sjögren’s antibodies.
Cases, genetics and counselling
Four case presentations, image-and-clip diagnosis quizzes, genetics of congenital heart disease, AI in cardiac imaging, tips and tricks, parental counselling and three panel discussions.
Built for
- Maternal–fetal medicine specialistsA thorough cardiac screening and diagnosis programme.
