Broken files, calcified canals, MB2 and C-shapes — Michael Solomonov’s protocols for the root canals that go wrong
Israeli endodontist Michael Solomonov, who directs a postgraduate programme at Sheba Medical Center, teaches the approaches he has developed for difficult teeth in Advanced Endodontic Challenges: Signature Curriculum by Michael Solomonov. Seven lessons and almost 11 hours cover sealer choice, deciding whether to treat at all, separated instruments, calcified canals in two parts, the second mesiobuccal canal and C-shaped anatomy, each backed by numerous clinical cases.

What you’ll be able to do
- Pick between epoxy-amine and calcium silicate sealers for vital, necrotic, resorbed or open-apex teeth
- Reduce and manage instrument separation, deciding when to retrieve, bypass or leave a fragment
- Negotiate calcified canals with ultrasonics, burs and static or dynamic guided endodontics
- Locate and treat MB2 using CBCT and anatomical landmarks
- Shape, disinfect and fill C-shaped canals classified by Melton and Fan
Inside the course
Judgement before instruments
An early lesson asks when treatment is truly needed: the limits of 2D radiographs, CBCT for grading difficulty, realistic healing timelines, non-odontogenic mimics and what counts as a functional tooth. The sealer lesson sets out a decision protocol for single- and multi-visit cases, perforations and resorption.
Fractured instruments
Solomonov explains torsional stress and cyclic fatigue in steel and nickel-titanium files, preventive measures, retrieval armamentarium and bypass techniques, and argues for biology-led decisions over marketing-led ones.
Calcification in two parts
The first lesson maps causes — trauma, revascularization, ageing, orthodontics, vital pulp therapy, overload and bleaching — and weighs orthograde treatment against microsurgery. The second is chairside technique: conserving dentine, guided access, locating orifices and getting past ledges.
Anatomy that surprises
The MB2 lesson compares primary treatment and retreatment and reads periapicals and CBCT step by step; the C-shape lesson covers high-risk zones, brushing motions, equipment-dependent strategy and restoration afterwards.

Before you buy
Does the course need special equipment to be useful?
Some techniques assume a microscope, ultrasonics or guided systems, but the C-shape lesson explicitly adapts strategy to the equipment available in your practice.
Are the lessons lectures or live procedures?
They are case-based lectures that combine literature review with clinical photographs, radiographs and CBCT from the instructor’s practice.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
