Pain control, disinfection and endo-perio diagnosis with Jorge Vera — six webinars on the decisions behind root canal success
Jorge Vera, an endodontist in Tlaxcala, Mexico, and visiting professor at Harvard, recorded Applied endodontics as six long webinars totalling about 11 hours. He covers anaesthesia and premedication, analgesic and antibiotic prescribing, pain that is not of dental origin, periapical biology and cysts, irrigation and intracanal disinfection, combined endodontic-periodontal lesions, and CBCT-guided planning of complex cases.
- 6webinars
- 11 hof teaching
- 30+years of the lecturer’s practice
What you’ll be able to do
- Improve mandibular and maxillary anaesthesia, including intraosseous and cooled-anaesthetic approaches
- Prescribe NSAIDs, corticosteroids and antibiotics on sound criteria
- Separate odontogenic from neuropathic, muscular and neurovascular pain
- Build an irrigation protocol with sodium hypochlorite, EDTA, activation and safe cannula use
- Diagnose endo-perio lesions, cemental tears and root fractures with CBCT
- Plan conservative access, MB2 location and guided templates for difficult canals
Inside the course
Two sessions on pain
Vera discusses premedication, drug choice, cryotherapy, postoperative pain time frames and genetic factors, then turns to sinus-related problems, trigeminal autonomic cephalalgia, occlusal dysaesthesia and brain lesions that present as toothache.
Periapical disease and healing
Histology of periapical lucency, pocket versus true cysts, the role of cholesterol and Actinomyces, calcified biofilm, surgical tactics, grafting indications and a step-by-step treatment algorithm.
Disinfection in the canal
A critical look at in vitro research, E. faecalis, canal size and taper, irrigant flow rate, hypochlorite accidents, XP-Endo Finisher, GentleWave, chlorhexidine, calcium hydroxide and sealer selection.
Combined lesions and modern planning
Simon’s classification, furcation diagnosis, implant versus endodontics, replantation and root preservation, followed by microscope use, access through crowns, lower premolar anatomy, isthmus management and foreign bodies in the apical third.

Before you buy
Are the webinars live or recorded?
They were held live and are supplied as recordings you watch at your own pace.
Why do two lectures both cover pain control?
Lessons 1 and 3 overlap on anaesthesia and NSAIDs, though the second adds opioids, probiotics, corticosteroids and a longer section on non-dental pain.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
