Wire bending for finishing and detailing — first, second and third order bends plus box, vertical and L loops, filmed step by step
Brazilian biomechanics teacher Dr. Kleber Meireles built Bends and Loops: Step-by-step Video Guides with Dr. Kleber Meireles so you can follow along with pliers and wire in hand. Eight lessons, almost 7¾ hours in total, explain the mechanics of each bend order, torque and retraction, then show loops for levelling and alignment and finish with filmed bending demonstrations applied to clinical cases.

What you’ll be able to do
- Form first order bends for in-out and rotational corrections
- Use second order bends to correct angulation, open implant space and manage intrusive forces
- Explain how third order torque arises from couples and how real and relative torque differ
- Plan retraction with torque control that respects facial and biological limits
- Bend vertical, box and L-shaped loops for rotation, space opening and intrusion
Inside the course
Bend orders and their biomechanics
The first three lessons treat each order of bend separately, linking wire geometry to tooth movement, wire prescription and individual patient needs, with case examples throughout.
Retraction and refinement loops
Lesson 4 covers controlled retraction and space maintenance. Two parts on levelling loops compare loops with conventional mechanics, discuss side effects and argue for combining fixed appliances with aligners where useful.
Watch and repeat
The final pair of lessons are bending demonstrations — first order bends with vertical loops, then second and third order bends — shown on the bench and then in patients.
About the instructor
Meireles coordinates a postgraduate orthodontic programme at Instituto Prime in Bahia, writes a column for a leading Brazilian orthodontic journal and has spent about ten years developing his own biomechanical method.

Before you buy
Is the whole course hands-on demonstration?
No. Lessons 1–6 are mainly lectures on biomechanics with case examples; the dedicated bending demonstrations are the last two lessons, about 80 minutes together.
What should I have ready while watching?
Orthodontic pliers and practice wire, so you can repeat each bend alongside the instructor.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
