The body and MSK imaging review from Penn Radiology brings together eight sessions that cross the boundary between musculoskeletal and general radiology practice. Christine Chung, MD and Vivianne Khoury, MD anchor the MSK modules — rotator cuff, elbow ligament injuries, wrist overuse, degenerative spine, knee menisci, pathologic fractures, and soft tissue lesions. Ella Kazerooni, MD, MS covers the cardiothoracic sessions. Elizabeth Sadowski, MD and Evan Siegelman, MD handle women’s imaging and body imaging, making this a genuinely multi-subspecialty course rather than a pure MSK product.

MSK upper extremity, spine, and knee
Chung opens with rotator cuff fundamentals, overuse wrist injuries, and an interpretive pitfall session on “bones and groans.” Khoury covers elbow ligament and tendon injuries, degenerative spine disease, imaging of MSK infections, and a dedicated module on meniscal lesions. The MSK sessions balance anatomy-driven interpretation with clinical context — each lecture names the specific structures and injury patterns you need to recognize.
MSK soft tissue, inflammation, and fractures
Session seven dives into pathologic, insufficiency, and fatigue injuries — the “strange-looking fractures” that challenge daily practice. Chung addresses synovial inflammatory processes and soft tissue lesions, while Khoury covers acute and chronic muscle injuries on MRI. The MSK modules include case-based Q&A sessions that tie the pathology and anatomy together.
Cardiothoracic and cardiovascular imaging
Kazerooni leads four lectures on pleural disease, management of indeterminate lung nodules, LungRADS updates for cancer screening, and imaging for pulmonary embolism. A second cardiothoracic session covers thoracic cardiovascular tumors, acute aortic syndromes, coronary CTA in the emergency department, and a session on radiologist well-being and burnout prevention — unusual but relevant for a clinical course.
Women’s imaging and body imaging
Sadowski presents O-RADS for cystic ovarian lesions, solid adnexal mass characterization, uterine mass imaging, and uterine anomalies. Siegelman covers endometrial and cervical cancer staging, MRI of endometriosis, and female pelvic case reviews. The body imaging sessions address prostate MRI, adrenal gland imaging, and focal liver lesion evaluation — rounding out a multi-subspecialty curriculum.
