Bone augmentation from socket to severe atrophy — 13 technique lessons covering GBR, blocks, cortical laminae, splitting and vertical gain
Eleven surgeons, among them Homa Zadeh, Roberto Rossi, Michele Jacotti, Gurien Demiraqi and Filippo Fontana, each take one method apart in Bone Augmentation: Techniques and Protocols. Its 13 lessons (20 h 30 min) move from ridge preservation after extraction and osseodensification to 3D allograft blocks, the sticky tooth graft, cortico lamina, resorbable and titanium membranes, bone splitting and full 3D horizontal and vertical reconstruction.

What you’ll be able to do
- Select a socket preservation method — collagen matrix, d-PTFE, double membrane or sponge allograft — for each extraction site
- Classify defects with the ABC system and choose graft and membrane accordingly
- Plan and place CAD/CAM allograft blocks with a surgical template
- Apply the PASS principles and release flaps, including the lingual flap, for tension-free closure
- Stabilise membranes with tacks, screws or periosteal sutures and use the sausage technique
- Recognise and treat complications such as exposure, infection and fistula
Inside the course
Less invasive routes first
Early lessons show how a freshly extracted tooth becomes a sticky tooth autograft combined with PRF, how osseodensification can gain vertical height in the atrophic posterior maxilla, and how a graftless strategy with ridge splitting in maxilla and mandible can avoid a donor site.
Blocks, laminae and membranes
The 3DBLOCK protocol runs from digital block design to flapless implant placement. The cortico lamina lesson compares soft, bone-layer and curved plates, the multilayer and Lego plus F.I.R.S.T. techniques and fibrin glue. A further lesson argues that resorbable membranes can handle most everyday atrophies.
Guided bone regeneration in depth
The longest lesson (2 h 41 min) explains the biology, incisions on each jaw, keratinised mucosa strip techniques, pin sequencing and the local and systemic causes of failure, with drug management of infections.
Three-dimensional reconstruction
The closing lessons demonstrate horizontal augmentation with titanium or collagen membranes, cortical perforation and growth factors, followed by vertical augmentation and the specific flap release it requires.
Built for
- ImplantologistsA menu of ridge techniques to match defect size and shape rather than one default graft.
- PeriodontistsHard and soft tissue management around future implant sites under one roof.
- Oral and maxillofacial surgeonsSeveral schools of vertical and horizontal augmentation to compare side by side.

Before you buy
Is this one instructor’s method or several?
Several. Each lesson is a self-contained talk by a different clinician, so the protocols sometimes differ and occasionally overlap.
Are live surgeries shown?
Surgical demonstrations are included in the 3D horizontal and vertical lessons, and the allograft lesson works on a jaw prototype; the rest combine lectures with clinical cases.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
