Learn to record and read a condylography — hinge axis, reference position, Bennett movement and SCI/TCI in 24 short lessons
Gregor Slavicek teaches Condylography: Recording and Analysis within the functional concept developed by Rudolf Slavicek. Across 24 compact lessons, about 6.5 hours in all, he moves from setting up the clutch and facebows to recording free, guided and manipulated movements, and then to a systematic written description of each tracing, parameter by parameter.
- 24lessons
- 6 h 35 minof video
- 7–27 minper lesson
What you’ll be able to do
- Prepare the patient and mount the paraocclusal clutch, upper and lower bows for a clean recording
- Locate the terminal hinge axis and define reference and therapeutic positions
- Judge whether a planned splint position is working from the tracing
- Follow a standard recording protocol with the Cadiax system and spot artifacts as they occur
- Describe quantity, quality, characteristic, coincidence and symmetry in a structured condylography report
- Convert tracings into SCI and TCI values for arcon and non-arcon articulators
Inside the course
Why condylography and how the jaw moves
The opening lessons place the recording inside a complete functional analysis, define function versus dysfunction, and review hinge versus rotational axes, mediotrusive and laterotrusive condyle behaviour, and the three reference planes.
Recording in practice
Slavicek demonstrates the recording sequence for initial diagnostics, visual checks during capture, locating the hinge axis, and transferring the axis-orbital plane into the articulator. A lesson on the masticatory muscles links muscle anatomy to what the tracing shows.
Writing the description
Eleven lessons teach a fixed reporting vocabulary: normal quantity values, quality grades, concave to convex characteristics, start and end points, excursion–incursion separations, Fisher angle, right–left asymmetry, special signals linked to joint noise, and the Bennett movement, closing with worked case descriptions.

Do I need a Cadiax device to benefit?
The recording lessons are shown on the Cadiax system; the analysis and wording chapters apply to any condylographic tracing, but hands-on practice needs a recording device.
How long are the individual videos?
Most run 10 to 25 minutes, with the shortest at 7 minutes and the longest, on the Bennett movement, at 27 minutes.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
