Preventing and fixing implant complications — Scott Froum on case selection, peri-implantitis and failing restorations
Periodontist and Perio-Implant Advisory editor Scott H. Froum walks through what goes wrong with implants and how to respond in Dental Implant Complications. Nine lectures, about five hours in all, follow the timeline of treatment: biology and case selection, problems in the operating field, peri-implant disease, prosthetic and occlusal failures, maintenance, and the legal exposure that follows a poor outcome.

Inside the course
Why implants fail before surgery starts
An opening case of two immediate implants that failed within three years shows the cost of ignoring biology. Two follow-up lectures cover medical history, titanium allergy, age, bisphosphonate-related necrosis, caries risk, periapical lesions and social habits.
Chairside and post-operative complications
Froum explains how to keep buccal-lingual, mesiodistal and vertical position correct, how to handle violation of neighbouring structures, and how he classifies complications. The longest lecture shows non-surgical and surgical peri-implantitis therapy through clinical clips.
Restorative, occlusal and long-term care
Crown emergence, soft tissue grafting to build keratinised tissue, peri-cementitis, lever-arm stresses and screw failure are followed by maintenance instruments that clean without scratching, why he avoids chlorhexidine, and advice on nerve injury and informed consent.

Before you buy
Are real patient cases shown, or only slides?
Both: lectures combine theory with clinical case videos, especially in the medical history and peri-implant disease sessions.
Does the legal lecture apply to my country?
It gives general risk-management advice on consent and nerve injury; check local regulations for specifics.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
