Mount models on eight articulator systems — facebow transfer, alginate impressions and stone casts, filmed step by step
Gary DeWood, Steve Ratcliff and Scott Ratcliff built Elite Dental Workflow: Articulators, Impressions, and Precision Modeling as a hands-on bench manual in video form: 11 modules and 68 short lessons, about 6 hours in all. Eight modules walk through SAM III, KaVo, Panadent, Denar 300, Stratos, Artex, Whip Mix and Hanau instruments; three more cover alginate impressions, vacuum-formed bleaching trays and bubble-free models.

What you’ll be able to do
- Record a facebow transfer and mount upper and lower casts on the system your office owns
- Use the Kois Facial Plane Analyzer as an alternative upper mounting reference
- Adjust and customise an articulator so the simulation matches the patient
- Take clean alginate impressions with injection or rope-wax technique
- Fabricate a bleaching tray and pour, trim and finish diagnostic models
Inside the course
One routine, eight instruments
Each articulator module follows the same pattern: meet the instrument and its facebow, prepare casts and bite records, mount the maxillary then mandibular model, and customise settings. Whip Mix and Hanau modules also show mounting with a Denar facebow, and the Hanau section uses the Springbow.
Impressions that pour well
Tray sizing, hand versus machine mixing of alginate, and upper and lower impressions by two different techniques, aimed at speed and consistency in the operatory.
From impression to finished cast
Stone selection and mixing, pouring without bubbles, removing and trimming, then preparing a model and forming a whitening tray on a Mini-Star machine.
The instructors
DeWood has practised since 1981 and taught in otolaryngology at the Medical College of Ohio; Steve Ratcliff has focused on comprehensive adult restorative care for two decades and lectures internationally; Scott Ratcliff trained at Indiana University.

Before you buy
Do I need to watch all eight articulator modules?
No — the modules repeat one workflow per brand, so most viewers watch the system they use plus the impression and model sections.
Is digital scanning or virtual articulation included?
No, the course is entirely analogue: physical articulators, alginate and gypsum.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
