Shaping the implant emergence profile around biology — ovoid pontics, narrow and short implants in four lessons
Brazilian implantologist Ricardo Moreno Bonilha Neto teaches Emergence Profile Creation. Biologically Driven Implantology as a compact programme of four lessons lasting almost six hours. He explains how restoration contours can steer soft tissue in the esthetic zone, then turns to reduced-diameter and reduced-length fixtures for sites where bone or space is limited.

What you’ll be able to do
- Plan an emergence profile that respects the patient’s gingival anatomy
- Use an ovoid pontic to condition soft tissue with provisional and final restorations
- Choose narrow implants on the basis of indications, contraindications and evidence
- Manage short implants in atrophic bone with attention to biomechanics
- Anticipate the typical pitfalls of anterior esthetic implant cases
Inside the course
Why the transition zone decides the result
The first session defines the emergence profile, lists the planning problems clinicians face and discusses solutions that fit each patient’s tissue phenotype and anatomy.
Guiding tissue with the pontic
Lesson two demonstrates how interim and definitive restoration design forms a natural-looking pontic site, so the gingiva matures into the shape you want.
Reduced-diameter and reduced-length implants
The longest lesson reviews research and clinical criteria for narrow fixtures in tight gaps; the last covers short fixtures in deficient ridges, integration and long-term load distribution.
About the instructor
Bonilha Neto holds a master’s degree and PhD in implantology, has taught in Ribeirão Preto since 2006, runs an implant-focused practice and leads the local ITI Study Club together with the University of Frankfurt.
Built for
- Implant surgeonsPractical criteria for picking narrow or short fixtures when anatomy is restrictive.
- Restorative dentistsClear guidance on contouring provisionals so peri-implant mucosa heals in an esthetic form.

Before you buy
Does it cover surgical placement or mainly prosthetic design?
Both sides appear: emergence and pontic design are prosthetic topics, while the narrow and short implant lessons address planning and placement.
How deep does the soft tissue part go?
Two of the four lessons focus on profile and pontic design; there is no separate grafting module.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
