Tooth whitening done properly: diagnosis, home and in-office protocols, internal bleaching and the cases that won’t lighten
Bleaching specialist Roberto Turrini, co-author of a Quintessence text on the subject, covers the complete whitening workflow in Follow White. Ten lessons over 6 h 30 min move from classifying stains and choosing a technique to product chemistry and regulation, bonding after bleaching, non-vital teeth, side effects, marketing and the discolorations that call for restorations instead.

Inside the course
Reading the stain first
Two lessons deal with diagnosis: how colour changes arise, when they appear and which clinical signs point to the right approach. This groundwork decides whether a case is likely to respond at all.
Chemistry, rules and technique choice
Turrini explains how whitening agents act, what safety standards apply and the legal and ethical limits on product use, then gives step-by-step routines for home trays and chairside sessions.
Special situations
Separate lessons tackle non-vital teeth, the effect of bleaching on enamel and adhesion, and complications during and after treatment. The final lesson on “unbleachables” shows when veneers or composites are the better answer.
Communicating colour
An hour-long session covers shade matching, setting realistic expectations and presenting whitening as a service. Turrini practises in Pesaro, Florence and Terni and is a visiting professor at the University of Genoa.

Does it cover non-vital tooth bleaching?
A dedicated 37-minute lesson covers internal techniques, product choice and common problems with endodontically treated teeth.
