Watch Massimo Simion operate — nine bone regeneration surgeries from sinus lifts to titanium-reinforced membranes
Milan periodontology professor Massimo Simion, one of the pioneers of guided bone regeneration, is filmed at work in GBR (Guided Bone Regeneration) Surgery Channel. Nine surgical videos, about 7 hours 40 minutes in total and partly unedited, show vertical and horizontal ridge augmentation, sinus floor elevation with GBR, aesthetic-zone single-tooth defects, immediate implants, tenting screws and second-stage re-entries.
- 9surgeries
- 7 h 42 minof footage
- 120+papers by the surgeon
What you’ll be able to do
- Design incisions and flaps and release them for tension-free closure over grafts
- Shape and fix titanium-reinforced non-resorbable and resorbable membranes
- Combine vertical GBR with sinus floor augmentation in the severely resorbed maxilla
- Preserve volume around immediate implants in the aesthetic zone
- Harvest connective tissue grafts and apply GBR suturing techniques
Inside the course
Posterior maxilla, start to finish
A vertical reconstruction with an autogenous block and simultaneous sinus elevation is followed through two separate re-entry videos, one of them unedited, so you see how the regenerated tissue looks and how the case is completed. A further case uses a tenting screw with sinus augmentation.
Aesthetic zone
Young patients with high expectations receive single-tooth GBR, horizontal augmentation of the upper front and an immediate implant with careful hard and soft tissue management. Another anterior case pairs immediate placement with a titanium-reinforced membrane, focusing on trimming and adapting it.
Scarred posterior mandible
One video tackles vertical augmentation in a patient with several failed previous surgeries, thick scar tissue and very little bone — a demonstration of how much caution each step demands.
Built for
- Implant surgeons and periodontistsUnhurried operating-room footage of advanced augmentation by a founding figure in the field.
- Surgeons preparing for vertical GBRSeeing re-entries shows what a successful first stage should produce.

Are there theory lectures between the surgeries?
No. The course is a collection of recorded procedures, some filmed during courses and some in daily practice, with the surgeon’s commentary as the main teaching.
Why do some videos feel slow?
At least one re-entry is shown unedited, which is useful for seeing real timing but means less condensed viewing.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
