Gulfcoast Physics-Sonography Principles & Instrumentation Registry Review 2024 — ultrasound physics rebuilt for exam day
The Gulfcoast Physics-Sonography Principles & Instrumentation Registry Review 2024 walks through the physics every sonographer has to master, from sound propagation and transducer design to Doppler, artefacts and bioeffects. Thirteen teaching topics are split by two mock exams, so you test yourself halfway and again at the end. It suits candidates heading for an ARDMS, APCA, ASRT or CCI registry exam and practitioners who simply want their physics back in working order.
- 15topics
- 2mock exams
- 2024release (7 Jan)
What you’ll be able to do
- Explain the physical principles of sound and how tissue changes the returning echo
- Relate transducer construction and beam behaviour to the image you see
- Work through pulse-echo and real-time imaging and the main display types
- Recognise common artefacts and know which instrument settings cause or cure them
- Apply Doppler and haemodynamics concepts to flow measurement
- Discuss bioeffects, quality assurance and newer scanner technologies
Inside the prep
Foundations and transducers
The course opens with the essentials of diagnostic ultrasound, the physics of wave behaviour and a dedicated look at transducers, then stops for the first mock exam to show where you stand.
Sonography principles and instrumentation
Two instrumentation parts sit around real-time imaging, pulse-echo imaging and display types, tracing a signal from the probe face to the monitor.
Safety, artefacts and quality
Bioeffects, artefacts and quality assurance cover the areas examiners like to probe, followed by a tour of newer technologies.
Doppler and final mock
Doppler and haemodynamics round off the teaching before a second mock exam closes the review.

Before you buy
How long is the physics review and in what file format?
Running time, file type and download size are not specified; you get the 15 topics listed, including both mock exams.
Does buying it register me for a registry exam?
No. Exam booking is done directly with ARDMS, APCA, ASRT or CCI; this is study material only.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
