The Harvard Geriatric Medicine 2024 annual review is a comprehensive five-day program running March 1 through 5, bringing together Harvard faculty for lectures and workshops on the conditions that define geriatric practice. The curriculum spans cardiovascular and metabolic disease, neurology and psychiatry, musculoskeletal medicine, infectious disease, and perioperative assessment — culminating in a keynote by David Sinclair on the biology of aging.

Day one opens with a geriatrics overview from Suzanne Salamon and moves quickly into prevention (J. Michael Gaziano), dyslipidemia (Ariela Orkaby), arrhythmias (Peter Zimetbaum), diabetes (Medha Munshi), hypertension (Lewis Lipsitz), heart failure (Eli Gelfand), coronary artery disease (Joseph Kannam), stroke (Jennifer Dearborn-Tomazos), and peripheral artery disease (Marc Schermerhorn). Each session addresses age-specific nuances in diagnosis and treatment that differ from younger-patient protocols.
Neurology, psychiatry, and aging science

David Sinclair delivers the keynote on advances in aging biology — from mouse models to human applications. Suzanne Salamon addresses women’s health, and David K. Osteoporosis (Douglas Kiel), osteoarthritis (Devyani Misra), rheumatology (Fadi Badlissi), and spinal stenosis (Steven Atlas) form the musculoskeletal block. Sleep disorders (Suzanne Bertisch), antibiotic stewardship (Paul Kamitsuka), and COPD (Eric Garshick) round out the medical updates.
