The disease and its management
Opening lectures summarise pathogenesis and diagnosis, compare the evidence for non-surgical and surgical approaches, and explain when and how to remove a failing implant. Mechanical, air-abrasive, laser and antiseptic options are weighed against each other, as is adjunctive antibiotic use.
Hygienist-level detail
A dedicated non-surgical session covers calculus detection, instrumentation errors, laser-assisted therapy, patient motivation and step-by-step appointments for healthy tissue, mucositis and established disease. The decontamination lecture reviews in-vitro data and treating mucositis as primary prevention.
Soft tissue, biology and implant quality
Soft tissue integration is contrasted with osseointegration, with guidance on grafting and recession treatment. Choukroun links oxidative stress, vitamin D and cholesterol to outcomes and presents sticky bone and i-PRF. The final lecture presents independent research on contamination and composition of commercial implants.
