Onlays, crowns, veneers and temporaries: 22 hours on indirect restorations from preparation to cementation
Three restorative specialists — Mahul Patel, Basil Mizrahi and David Gerdolle — share the teaching in Indirect Restorations in Dentistry – A Complete Guide, a 32-lesson collection running 22 h 21 min. It spans cuspal coverage decisions, mechanical versus adhesive retention, onlay and full gold crown preparations, provisional restorations, veneer and onlay cementation, zirconia, hybrid and contemporary ceramics, and a microscope-based lab workflow.

What you’ll be able to do
- Decide when a weakened posterior tooth needs cuspal coverage rather than a direct fill
- Weigh mechanical against adhesive retention for each preparation
- Cut clean gold and lithium disilicate onlay preparations and a full gold crown
- Make reliable provisional restorations in everyday practice
- Follow a stepwise cementation protocol for veneers, onlays and crowns
- Match zirconia, hybrid and glass ceramics to anterior and posterior indications
Inside the course
Treatment decisions for the posterior dentition
Multi-part lectures tackle the compromised tooth, the choice between direct and indirect work, and the long-running debate between retention form and bonding. A bio-emulation series shows how direct posterior restorations fit into the same daily logic.
Preparations you can watch in full
An extended onlay session is joined by practical demonstrations of a gold onlay on an upper premolar, an Emax adhesive onlay and a two-and-a-half-hour full gold crown on an upper molar.
Temporaries and luting
Two hands-on lectures cover provisional fabrication; five more take you through veneer cementation, cementing indirect restorations in practice and the phases of seating an onlay.
Materials and the laboratory
Conventional tetragonal zirconia, hybrid ceramics, current all-ceramic crown and bridge guidance, anterior and posterior contemporary ceramics, esthetic ceramic fabrication and working under the microscope in the lab. Patel holds two Eastman master’s degrees and prosthodontic membership from Edinburgh; Mizrahi is a UK specialist and ABP diplomate; Gerdolle runs a minimally invasive practice in Vevey-Montreux.

Before you buy
Is it one continuous course or a compilation?
It gathers lectures by three presenters into one collection, so style and pace vary, and lessons are not credited to individual speakers.
Is there a written overview of each lesson?
Only the lesson titles and running times are provided; there are no per-lesson summaries.
