Anterior esthetics from composite layering to implants in the smile zone — 71 lessons by seven clinicians
Seven teachers, among them Frank Spear, Gregg Kinzer, Ricardo Mitrani, Jason Smithson and Will Martin, share the 36 h 50 min of Interdisciplinary Esthetic Excellence. Eight modules run from temporaries and anterior material choice through direct resin artistry, veneers and papilla management, esthetic-zone implants, extraction and ridge preservation, and functional treatment planning for worn or TMD patients.

What you’ll be able to do
- Fabricate crown and veneer provisionals that guide the final anterior result
- Choose between composite and ceramic for each anterior situation
- Layer, shape and finish direct resin with solid contacts and no white lines
- Place veneer finish lines to control papilla height and open embrasures
- Score an implant site with the Esthetic Risk Assessment before surgery
- Plan two adjacent missing anteriors with implants, pontics or cantilevers
Inside the course
Restorative groundwork and direct composite
Material selection is covered in three parts, alongside a lesson on how speech patterns can drive muscle pain and wear. The 14-lesson resin module then goes from the palatal stent and natural or simplified layering to Class I and II restorations, particle abrasion and closing the proximal box.
Veneers, soft tissue and the esthetic implant
Interproximal and interdental finish line placement, lab communication, insertion and ovate pontics come before a long implant block: immediacy, ridge defect strategies, the ERA with patient, restorative and surgical factors, and planning for dark teeth.
Complex sites and function
An LTR classification frames ten lessons on two missing centrals or laterals, including orthodontic site development. Atraumatic extraction and ridge preservation follow, then facially generated planning, cement versus bond, the edentulous maxilla, TMD, phonetic bite registration, adult non-surgical expansion and Nuvola aligners.
The teaching team
Spear and Kinzer share a Seattle practice limited to esthetic and fixed work; Mitrani practises prosthodontics in Mexico City; Martin directs the implant centre at the University of Florida; Lorenzana is a San Antonio periodontist; Smithson is known for composite artistry. Bob Winters, a sports psychologist, is also credited.
