Tokyo protocols for immediate implants, socket shield, OISD and adhesive restorations — Funato, Tanno and Tagami in nine compact lessons
Three Tokyo clinicians share the systems behind their work in Japanese School of Restorative and Surgical Dentistry: Akiyoshi Funato of the 5-D Institute on immediate implants, his 4D concept and regeneration; Tsutomu Tanno on combining orthodontics with implant site development; and Junji Tagami of Tokyo Medical and Dental University on adhesion for direct and indirect restorations. Nine lessons run to about five hours.

What you’ll be able to do
- Classify extraction sites and place flapless immediate implants in the correct 3D position
- Decide when partial extraction and the socket-shield technique are indicated — and when to avoid them
- Plan GBR with titanium membranes or a resorbable pouch using the PASS principles
- Use orthodontic extrusion, torque and lateral movement to prepare implant sites (OISD)
- Bond direct composite crowns, adhesive bridges and CAD/CAM restorations reliably
Inside the course
Funato’s implant and regeneration lessons
Five lessons cover the 4D concept, which adds timing to three-dimensional positioning, immediate placement after single or full-arch extraction, socket-shield workflows, horizontal augmentation, the retained-root hybrid approach, long-term prognosis, peri-implantitis, superstructure fractures, auto-transplantation and papilla preservation around teeth and implants.
Tanno on ortho-implant coordination
Two lessons address implants in the smile zone during orthodontic treatment, sinus lifts in orthodontic patients, planning by available bone volume, and the Orthodontic Implant Site Development method combined with regeneration and guided flapless surgery.
Tagami on adhesion
The closing lessons explain how resin bonds to enamel and dentine, factors that weaken direct bonds, resin coating, one-piece direct crowns for vital and non-vital anterior teeth, direct adhesive bridges, and a comparison of self-adhesive and conventional resin cements for indirect work.

Before you buy
Can five hours really cover implants, perio, ortho and adhesion?
Only as an overview: most lessons last 20–45 minutes, so each topic is a condensed protocol with cases rather than a full course.
Is the audio in Japanese?
The spoken language is not specified; if that matters to you, check before purchase.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
