Fixed and removable prosthodontics step by step — reduction guides, wax-ups, crown and veneer preps, dentures and bonded bridges
Frank Spear, Ricardo Mitrani, Gary DeWood, Douglas Benting and Jeffery Bonk teach Mastering Prosthodontics: From Impressions to Edentulous Solutions, ten modules and 41 short lessons totalling 11 h 40 min. Half of the course deals with the dentate patient — putty reduction guides, diagnostic wax-ups, crown and veneer preparation, impressions — and the other half with edentulous arches, from evaluation and impressions to tooth setting and the LTR classification, before a closing workshop on resin-bonded bridges.

What you’ll be able to do
- Build and trim putty reduction guides — incisal, window, vertical and combined — to control preparation depth
- Use the diagnostic wax-up to plan treatment, make provisionals and brief the laboratory
- Prepare crowns with correct bur selection and subgingival or anterior margin placement
- Plan anterior veneer preparations through a mock-up, including malaligned or discoloured teeth
- Take edentulous impressions and set denture teeth from facial and maxillary landmarks
- Classify edentulous arches with the Lip, Tooth, Ridge (LTR) system and fabricate, adapt and repair resin-bonded bridges
Inside the course
Planning before the bur touches enamel
The opening modules show how to fabricate and trim four kinds of silicone guide and why the wax-up should come first, with guidance on its timing, technique and what it should tell the technician.
Preparation and impression technique
Crown preparations, bleeding-tissue management during impressions and a two-hour block on veneer philosophy — including the RW bur system and mock-up–driven preparation — form the practical core.
The edentulous patient
Motivation of both clinician and patient, critical exam findings, maxillary and mandibular anatomy, four impression techniques and facially generated tooth position lead into Benting’s LTR framework, which also weighs compliance and cost of implant options.
Bonded bridge workshop
Four short clips cover fabrication, chairside adaptation, removal and repair of a resin-bonded bridge as a conservative tooth replacement.
